Advocating for & Supporting Enterprise, Entrepreneurship & Private Sector Development in Africa
The African Markets Initiative (AMi) is a social enterprise organisation that advocates for, and promotes markets and private sector capacity development in Africa, as the core platforms for shared growth. The organisation's committment is driven by the recognition that the capacities of Africa's markets and private sectors remain seriously under-developed and under-utilised as platforms for sustainable growth. The organisation further recognises that this is serving as a critical limiting factor in developing and harnessing the ingenuities of Africa's entrepreneurs. Through a suite of primary intervention programmes, the organisation promotes and supports Enterprise Social Mobility and Participative Value Creation, through which we aim to harness the power of functional markets and dynamic private sectors to facilitate and support entrepreneurship, enterprise and effective wealth creation amongst Africans.
Through an Africa Enterprise Partnership, we aim to harness the traditional 'excess liquidities' of Africa's commercial banks to support a market and private sector framework that effectively mobilises and supports access to structured enterprise financing solutions for business and investment start-ups. The organisation aims to deliver these at 50 % of the cost of main stream finansing, with no need for collateral /securities. These are complimented by entrepreneurship training and mentorships programmes, as well as support in building strategic alliances and enterprise networks and partnerships.
African Markets Initiative's commitment is to promote and support shared growth and shared prosperity in Africa.
